We kickoff our 2026 HistoryTalks series with Muskets to Modern Times. Starting with James Hunter's Iron Works and Rappahannock Forge, Kathi Lynn Austin, a Hunter descendant, will cover his significant contribution to arming the Continental Army and Navy to her present-day work on human rights and combating illegal arms trafficking. James Hunter had the largest forge and blast furnace in Colonial America. Kathi Lynn Austin is the Founder and Executive Director of the Conflict Awareness Project and the Freedom Forge Foundation. Join us on Thursday, February 5, at 7pm in the Truist Theater, Brock Commons, 304 Henry St., Ashland on the RMC campus. This promises to be a fascinating evening. It is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
