Richmond Trail of Enslaved Africans Tour- Fall 2019

Kelly Merrill, Ph.D., Ashland Museum board member, faculty member at Randolph-Macon College and University of Richmond, and fellow with Initiatives of Change, will lead a tour of the Trail of Enslaved Africans. Join us on Saturday, November 23. We will meet at the Ashland Museum at 8:45 am and depart by car/van to Richmond at 9:00 am. Holiday Walking & House Tour

The Ashland Museum will lead a tour along historic James and Howard streets ending at South Center Street and the Macmurdo house on Sunday, December 8. Once part of the Ashland Race Course, the RF&P Railroad began residential development in the race course area at the end of the 19th century. We'll walk along James and Howard streets, talk about the architectural styles and hear some of the quirky stories about the homes.
