Share a story from series The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner and take home a copy of your favorite episode.

Learn about the history of Ashland and its important link to the railroad. Play railroad games. Climb aboard a real C&O red caboose and learn favorite railroad songs. Create your own cardboard boxcar. Participants are invited to wear their boxcar creation in the Ashland Fourth of July Parade.

The Workshop is a 3-hour session and is limited to 8 children. This is designed for rising 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders only, please. Extra time and individual attention will be available for each participant to complete their amazing project. Each child should bring snack and drink. Water will be available.

The cost to attend a Workshop is $35 for a child of Ashland Museum members; $40 for non-members. A child needs to be pre-registered to attend.

The Workshop will held at the Ashland Museum, 105 Hanover Avenue, Ashland, VA and will be offered on the following dates and times in June, 2015:

Saturday, June 13: 8:30 to 11:30 am
Sunday, June 14:  2:30 to 5:30 pm
Monday, June 15:  8:30 to 11:30 am

Saturday, June 20: 8:30 to 11:30 am
Sunday, June 21:  2:30 to 5:30 pm
Monday, June 22:  8:30 to 11:30 am

Saturday, June 27: 8:30 to 11:30 am
Sunday, June 28:  2:30 to 5:30 pm
Monday, June 29:  8:30 to 11:30 am

Save time: Register & pay online via PayPal. Or, fill out the Registration Form, print it, and send in your payment check made out to: Ashland Museum, PO Box 633, Ashland, VA 23005. Please write “Boxcar Children” on the check.
